Surovina je přísně vybírána pouze ve standardu jeden pupen s jedním lístkem nebo jeden pupen se dvěma právě rozvinutými lístky a sklízí se pouze jednou ročně na začátku jara.
Čaj je zpracováván tradiční metodou výroby oolongů a prochází deseti ručně prováděnými kroky.
Nálev v sobě nese esenci pralesa, minerální charakter horských skal i éterickou lehkost mraků a mlhy – to, čemu se v čínské čajové terminologii říká „horský charakter“ (shan yun 山韵).
