Also called Yue Guang Mei Ren 月光 美人. Tea specialties with a relatively long history probably come from Jing Gu. Thanks to special production processes (processing at night), leaves acquire a wonderful contrast of colors. The tips and surface of the leaves are velvety soft and creamy white, while the underside is dark to black – the white side is said to represent the day, while the dark night.
Legend has it that in ancient times the girls selected to collect leaves for this tea were bathed and cared for three days in advance and then carefully collected only the best buds and leaves for making this wonderful tea in the moonlight – hence the name “Moonlight Beauty”.
